Death's Daughter and the Ebony Blade summary:
Despite facing the Gate to the Underworld, Olivia miraculously survived thanks to the whim of Zed, the death god. He raised her until she was of age, but then suddenly vanished, leaving behind a letter, a brilliant red jewel, and an ominous black sword. Armed with these items, Olivia joined the ongoing war between the Kingdom and Imperial armies. The bloody conflict had raged for years without either side gaining an advantage. Even after two years, the mounting corpses testified to the stagnancy of the situation. However, the Kingdom's last defensive line was in sight of collapse. Olivia, with her unassuming exterior belying the latent killer within, was the final hope for the beleaguered Kingdom. Raised in death's chaos, her presence on the battlefield would change the course of the war, leaving behind a trail of gore and destruction.
